Introduction
With a platform built for industrial IoT, the new PICO-IMX8PL and SRG-IMX8PL combine robust physical hardware with elite development tools to make bringing solutions to market that much easier. The SRG-IMX8PL system enables users to produce quality, cost-efficient IoT Gateway solutions able to withstand rugged environments. Meanwhile, the PICO-IMX8PL's dense configuration of connective interfaces grant users everything needed for low-cost, highly efficient options on the PICO-ITX form factor.
AI-Integrated SoC Architecture
The PICO-IMX8PL and SRG-IMX8PL, powered by the NXP i.MX 8M Plus–Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor with an optional NPU, are low-cost, yet ideally suited solutions able to meet the connectivity and power-efficiency needed for modern IoT Gateway applications. The platform's eIQ® Toolkit support, which grants access to a variety of ML inference engines, also allows users to develop machine learning solutions.
Enhanced Connectivity for IoT Applications
At both board and system level, AAEON's IMX8PL platforms can augment the potential of IoT Gateway applications. Dual LAN ports with IEEE 1588 and TSN capabilities, alongside Wi-Fi and 4G module support give the devices broad deployment potential in industrial IoT settings. Despite these high-performance features, power consumption remains low, making both platforms operationally reliable across the board.

Built to withstand harsh conditions, the PICO-IMX8PL and SRG-IMX8PL both thrive in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 80°C, with the use of a fanless heatsink. The SRG-IMX8PL offers further ruggedness via tested shock, drop, and vibration resistance, ensuring reliable operation in even the most rugged of environments. Both platforms also stand out with a wide 9V~36V power input range, offering protection from unstable power sources.
Agnostic Operating System Support
The PICO-IMX8PL and SRG-IMX8PL support a remarkable range of operating systems, including Debian® 11, Android™ 13, and Yocto. This broad OS support provides developers with the flexibility to choose the best platform for their specific needs, enhancing the PICO-IMX8PL and SRG-IMX8PL's versatility and usability for multiple industries.
